Examinations Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara says results of the 2022 GCE Advanced Level Examination that concluded on Friday (17) will be released by the end of June 2023.

Speaking at a media briefing today (20), Jayasundara said concerns have arisen as the expected number of teachers did not submit applications for A/Level paper marking.

He said teachers have cited concerns over the daily allowance granted for paper marking duty as insufficient.

The teacher state that the Rs.500 daily allowance currently provided is insufficient.

Teacher unions meanwhile charge that despite the Minister of Education obtaining Cabinet approval to increase the daily allowance of teachers engaged in paper marking to Rs.3,000, a circular in this regard is yet to be issued.
