Five districts have confirmed over 200 COVID-19 cases yesterday.
The number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the country rose to 342,079 following the detection of 2,987 patients yesterday.
468 cases were recorded from Kalutara, 310 from Colombo, 269 from Galle, 221 from Ampara, 201 from Kurunegala, 175 from Ratnapura, 140 from Monaragala and 118 from Kandy.
98 infections were detected from Hambantota, 95 each from Puttalam and Trincomalee, 88 from Anuradhapura, 82 from Polonnaruwa, 75 from Matale, 68 from Kegalle, 64 from Nuwara Eliya and 61 from Badulla.
54 COVID-19 cases were identified from Matara, 52 from Jaffna, 41 from Vavuniya, 35 each from Gampaha and Batticaloa, 33 from Kilinochchi, seven from Mannar and five from Mullaitivu.
97 persons who arrived from overseas also tested positive for the virus yesterday.
