A consignment of 1,860,000 Sinopharm vaccine doses reached Sri Lanka from Beijing, China this morning.
The consignment arrived in the Bandaranaike International Airport on board a SriLankan Airlines flight.
Airport Duty Manager told NewsRadio the stock of vaccine doses, weighing more than 19,952kg, were stored in 60 boxes with dry ice.
The consignment departed China on board SriLankan Airlines flight UL869 at 01:27am and landed in Sri Lanka at 5:26am.
NewsRadio airport correspondent said the vaccine doses have been stored at refrigerators of the airport storage terminal.
