A total of 169 vaccination centres will be in operation today across the country.

The Presidential Secretariat said vaccination centres have been established in 19 districts including 24 in Kalutara, 18 each in Gampaha and Batticaloa and 15 each in Colombo and Ampara.

Meanwhile the vaccination of university students between the ages of 20 and 30 will commence on Monday.

Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena said the programme will be launched after discussions with the University Grants Commission and Vice-Chancellors.

Dr. Asela Gunawardena said students can get vaccinated from Monday to Friday next week at the closest university premises, despite attending another university.

He said all students will be administered the Sinopharm vaccine.
