Another 12 individuals of different department in Parliament have tested positive for the coronavirus.
The 12 positive cases were identified when a total of 275 persons, including Members of Parliament, Parliament staff, security personnel and journalists were subject to Rapid Antigen Tests at the Parliament premises this morning.
Issuing a statement, Serjeant-at-Arms Narendra Fernando said steps have been taken to identify close contacts of the infected individuals. He said measures have been taken to direct them to quarantine and disinfect relevant areas they visited.
The statement added future Parliament proceedings will be carried out with minimum staff, from tomorrow until further notice.
