It has been revealed that the broker who brought the 16-year-old as a domestic worker for employment at Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen’s residence, had also brought 10 other minors and young women to MP Bathiudeen and his relatives on several occasions.
Deputy Solicitor General Dileepa Peiris made this revelation before Colombo Additional Magistrate Kanchana Neranjana de Silva today.
Furthermore, the Deputy Solicitor General said the mother of the 16-year-old deceased girl had handed her over to the broker in exchange for a loan of Rs.35,000 obtained from him.
NewsRadio Court correspondent said two special Police teams have been appointed to investigate whether the girl’s death was a suicide or homicide.
