Rumesh Tharanga wins Diamond League javelin gold in Doha

Sri Lankan javelin star Rumesh Tharanga won gold in the men’s javelin at the seventh leg of the Diamond League in Doha with a throw of 88.68 metres.

It was the second time Tharanga had won a Diamond League event, further cementing his place in Sri Lanka’s athletics history with another remarkable international achievement.

Indian Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra finished in fourth place in the competition, according to reports.
