President’s Fund to begin district-level recognition of 2025 G.C.E. Advanced Level high achievers in Kilinochchi on September 26

The President’s Fund will begin district-level recognition of students who demonstrated outstanding performance at the 2025 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in Kilinochchi on September 26.

The programme was launched in 2025 as a new programme of the President’s Fund under the chairmanship of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. It previously recognised, at district level, students who demonstrated outstanding performance in each subject stream at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Ten students who achieved the highest results in each subject stream were recognised in each district. This year the number recognised from each subject stream has been increased to 20. Nearly 3,000 students from all districts across the island will be recognised this year.

Each student will receive financial assistance of Rs. 100,000 and a certificate of recognition.

The programme’s primary objective is to identify and encourage the talents of the younger generation preparing to take responsibility for the country’s future, while providing them with the support required to pursue their further education.

The President’s Fund also plans to expand the programme to the provincial level in the future.
