Deputy Minister Hemachandra meets Bangladesh High Commissioner Mahmud

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra met the newly appointed High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Sri Lanka, H.E. D.M. Salahuddin Mahmud, on 06 November 2026 for a constructive discussion on further strengthening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

The talks centred on upcoming high-level visits of Bangladesh’s Minister of Health and State Minister for Foreign Affairs, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding friendship and partnership between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, while exploring avenues for enhanced bilateral cooperation and regional engagement.
