Deputy Minister Arun Hemachandra scheduled to attend Sri Lanka–Romania political consultations

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra is scheduled to take part in the Sixth Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and Romania in Bucharest on 22 October 2026.

The official visit to Bucharest, Romania, is scheduled from 21 to 26 October 2026. Also planned is the inaugural meeting of the Joint Working Group on Labour Cooperation between the two countries.

During the visit to Bucharest, Deputy Minister Hemachandra is scheduled to call on the Minister of Labour and hold bilateral discussions with the State Secretaries responsible for Labour and Internal Affairs of Romania. He is also scheduled to meet with the President of the Sri Lanka–Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group.

Deputy Minister Hemachandra will address business gatherings organized by Chambers of Commerce in Bucharest, Arad and Constanta. He is also scheduled to meet with members of the Sri Lankan community residing in Romania.
